“ On a uncharacteristically warm Thursday in February, we ventured down the treacherous roads of Athens traffic to Marker 7 in hopes of a scrumptious dinner. And boy, did it deliver. Upon first walking in, things smelt a bit fishy (in a seafood way of course). The vibes were good, with the serene lull of Bob Dylan's voice flowing through the restaurant. We were seated inside and promptly handed a menu with an abundance of delicious options. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were perfectly rotund and encased in a golden crust that would remind one of a coastal sunrise. Next was the burger with a side of fries and the basil poblano shrimp pesto with a side of sweet potatoes. The burger was okay for a seafood restaurant, but the perfectly seasoned fries were what really stole the show. The shrimp pesto was, in a word, spectacular! Each bite was packed with the perfect combination of decadent flavors, with the pesto not being too overpowering in combination with the shrimp. The sweet potatoes were especially crisp, with a smile-inducing hint of cinnamon. We would return for the food alone, despite the fact that we were stranded at sea by our lovely waiter. After sending out an SOS signal, he returned after 20 minutes with a buoy in hand (our checks) to rescue us. A sudden gust of wind blew a napkin onto the floor that we reached to clean up. This prompted our waiter to quickly let us know that the napkin was his job to clean up, with a wink and smile. Safe to say, we will be returning. ”

“ I'm back to say I still love this place. It's by far my favorite seafood place in town. I love to get the platter with blackened shrimp and calamari with fries and mac and cheese (I know it's very carby but the fries and mac are SOOO good so I will be ordering them every time). The raspberry marg is still amazing. My friend who's not a big seafood person gets the buffalo chicken tacos and loves them. ”

“ Come here every year for my birthday. Best seafood in athens! Their drinks are great and the food is even better. The platter is such a great deal and we never miss the grouper nuggets! On my platter I get clam strips, calamari, an extra side of hushpuppies, and mac n cheese. Their hushpuppies alone are spectacular. The Mac n cheese with some hot sauce is awesome! I wish they had dessert but other than that no complaints. Usually a pretty long wait even on weekdays so get there early! Cute spot but not super upscale. ”

“ Glad to have a good seafood restaurant with an outdoor seating area. Food : very good seafood and multiple tasty sides. No reservations. Limited parking by the restaurant-more parking across a very busy road. Service: servers are pleasant and efficient Location -very handy location for Athens, on a corner at the busy 5-Points intersection. Facility : Good reuse situation - a renovated and remodeled old house makes a convenient restaurant. Usually crowded and noisy. The porch with fans is a less crowded, but there is quite a bit of road noise. ”

“ We stopped shortly after my son's graduation from UGA (12/15/23). We have eaten here a handful of times and never been disappointed. Parking is a bit challenging, but the cozy environment, food, and welcoming staff make up for it. Appetizer: fried green tomatoes and grouper nuggets. I highly recommend both. We always get the tomatoes but this was the first time having the nuggets. I am not a fan of tartar sauce and I loved the house made tartar sauce. I even asked for more. Appetizers were YUM. 5/5 Main: Buffalo shrimp basket (2), salmon BLT (2) and a shrimp basket. We all had fries/slaw. None of us were impressed by the slaw. There was no flavor and it was just blah. However, there were no other complaints. It was delicious. The BLT's were made with fresh bacon and salmon. The shrimp was also fresh and the buffalo was well seasoned. They have a house made chipotle ranch dressing that is great for dipping fries. Overall YUM 4/5 Dessert: we al shared a slice of bourbon pecan pie and key lime pie. Although we all like the pecan pie we chose key lime as our favorite. It was not overwhelming bitter and had a great subtle lime flavor. Overall rating 4/5 ”

“ Another classic Athens favorite. This spot is always packed, so make sure your entire party is there when you arrive & expect a bit of a wait during busy hours, but it is definitely worth it. They have a good selection without the menu being overwhelming. I have gotten various menu items & appetizers during my 4 years here & have never been disappointed. Indoor, bar, & covered outdoor seating available with a casual atmosphere perfect for a lunch or dinner with friends. If you ever find yourself in Athens, Marked 7 is a great place to try! M7 Fish Sandwich w/ fries: 9/10 Love, love, love this sandwich! I opted to get it blackened and it was flavorful & perfectly cooked. The fries were seasoned to perfection! Definitely recommend!!! ”
